T excursions

"You're an Angel"

So I'm walking past two guys in the subway today and once I get past them, almost out of ear shot distance, one of them says, "You're an angel!" I was far enough away to not have heard them, so I didn't turn around, but quite honestly it was kinda cute. These guys were buff and good looking so I would have expected them to be cocky and say something stupid or crude. But it was kind of like they didn't have the guts to say it until I had gone by. For a split second it made me wonder what funny blog stories I might have if I were available to guys like these, but I'd rather be posting about my upcoming wedding to the love of my life. I love you sweetie!

Ex-fiance

Later on the T this girl asked me when I was getting married. "In a week," I replied. We talked until I got to Arlington and she told me how she was engaged, but called it off 5 weeks before the wedding. I couldn't help but ask the politics of the engagement ring and she said she bought it off of him. She was nice; she didn't want some other girl to get it and have bad karma, and she knew he couldn't afford to take the loss financially. He got it appraised and she paid him that amount, which is probably more than he paid for it anyway.
We were discussing the tremendous cost of weddings, and how she lost a lot of money, but she said it was cheaper than a divorce. Sounds like she makes more money than her ex-fiance who (small world) is from Western Mass as well and coaches high school football at my mom's old school.

Aloha

"If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes."
No, I'm not talking about New England, this is Kauai. I'm having a hard time realizing that I'll be going there in 2 weeks. So much attention and planning goes into this one day that I almost forgot about the 14 day honeymoon afterward. The first week we're going to Maui and the second week we'll travel to Kauai. I still can't comprehend it! Mahalo to Jen Rosie for getting me some new luggage, one of which is suspiciously big enough for her to stow away in...
If any one has been to these islands in Hawaii send me your thoughts.

You Can't Always Get What You Want

So today I purchased 4 Rolling Stone tix for when they play at Fenway in a few weeks thanks to my Red Sox connections. They go for a pretty penny! For now they are all spoken for, but if one of the potentials can't make it I may have a pair available if anyone is interested. Just let me know, first come, first serve. Also let me know what your favorite song is of theirs... mine is not the one entitled above, it just fit for posting purposes--though my Pop liked to reference that one a lot to me...I can't ever imagine why. A shiny new nickel goes to the 1st person to guess my favorite song of theirs. Yes, that is correct a whole 5 cents!

All in the family

Tomorrow calls for another trip to Springfield for a family reunion. Before the BBQ the necessary wedding errands must be completed, namely picking up the groom's ring and meeting with the DJ to make sure his idea of a good time doesn't involve the hokey pokey or the macarena. I'm glad I don't normally commute underground 'cause Government Center was what I reckon the pits of hell to be like. I thought they at least used to have those big fans going, but this summer I've seen nothing. It's quite oppressive down there. I think that the Dunks stand is behind it all--yes, make them severely dehydrated while they wait forever for a T so they are forced to buy our coffee coolattas or die!

These words are my own...

So I guess with this new blog thing I should post and stuff. I think I've written more on Princess Sophia's than my own. The days are flying by this summer. It didn't help that Mother Nature forgot to give us Spring this year (my season favorita). September will be here in no time which means I only have one more month of having my cool name. How I will miss it...but the new one is not bad either. Growing up I asked my mom if we were Italian since I love their food, but she insisted we weren't so it is only fitting that I marry one.
Speaking of whom he is awaiting my presence so I must depart for the night. Thank God it's Friday tomorrow--I'm exhausted!
I'll leave you with my best and worst picks of the day:
Best: The boys I used to babysit in college will indeed be at the wedding extravaganza! Yay! I love them. Nini (Anthony) will be the ringbearer. He's 4 and adorable.
Worst: Getting a nasty whiff of Simba's fresh ploppings in the bathroom as I brush my teeth before bed--helpless in the face of his potent leftovers which easily overcome the room freshener. I'll leave those for my love to take care of in the morning. I can't help it that he gets up earlier than moi. Sucka!
Goodnight.
